SUMMER ART CLASSES
Duration: 5 weeks 3 hours per session

Class Description: In this 5-day event, 15-hour program students will learn color theory for artists. Students will paint their own color wheel, learning color mixing in the process and then they will paint a still life in different color schemes.

Class Description:
In this 5- day event, students will learn to draw from life. Still lives will be used as reference to learning composition, elements and principles of design. Students will use graphite, charcoal sticks, powder charcoal, red conte and black ink.
All materials will be provided. No experience needed.

Duration: 5 weeks —3 hours per session

Prerequisite: none
Class Description: In this 5-week, 15-hour class, students will learn to draw human form, from life. There will be a dressed model present during the class to allow students to observe and draw. No previous drawing experience needed. In this class students will use graphite, charcoal, red conte and time permitting black ink to draw the human form. Students will learn the following elements of design: value, shape and line.
This is not a drop-in class, and it builds up from the beginning.

Class Description: In this 5-day event, 15-hour class students will learn NOTAN, a Japanese method that uses black ink to study value combinations that will produce the most compositional pleasant design for an art piece. In this class students will do several value studies in NOTAN, and then do a color study using a limited palette.

ARTIST GROUPS
Duration: 1 hour per week

Prerequisite: None
Class Description:
Using objects arranged in still-life settings as reference, students will be guided step-by-step through the drawing process. They will learn and apply the principles and elements of design to accurately represent subjects on a variety of surfaces. Different mediums will be explored, including graphite, charcoal, conte, and ink. All materials are included.
Cost: $70 per hour
GROUP LESSONS
Duration: 12 weeks — 2 hours per session
Start Date: Begins once a minimum of six participants are registered
Prerequisite: Basic drawing training, plus basic experience painting and drawing the human figure from live models
Class Description:
In this course, students will have the opportunity to paint the human form directly from life. Each session will feature a live model as reference. Students will work in monochromatic watercolor and ink, acrylics, and oils, with a focus on applying color theory along with the principles and elements of design. These concepts will be reviewed and reinforced throughout the course to help students create dynamic, well-composed figure paintings.
Cost: $500 + model fees (shared equally among participants)

In this course, students will explore and practice the elements and principles of design while drawing from a live model. Working with charcoal, graphite, conté pencils, and ink on a variety of surfaces, participants will learn to break down the complexity of the human form into manageable steps. By applying core design concepts, students will be able to both accurately visualize the figure and create compositions that are artistically compelling.

Instruction will cover techniques in both acrylics and oils, with an emphasis on developing confident color choices and brushwork.

SPANISH LESSONS
DURATION: 1 hour a week

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Students will develop the skills to understand, read, write, and speak the Spanish language in a practical, entertaining, and encouraging environment. All classes are adapted to the needs, goals, age, and level of the student. All levels are taught in a one-to-one manner. Children are taught using TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling), while adults are taught using a combination of methods including TPRS and structured lessons.
